Fifteen Weeks of Sub-Four Percent Mortgage Rates
Freddie Mac has released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS), showing that the 30 year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.92 percent with an average 0.8 point for the week ending March 15, 2012, up from last week when it averaged 3.88 percent. Last year at this time, the 30 year fixed rate mortgage averaged 4.76 percent. Despite this weeks 0.04 percent increase in rates, the average 30 year fixed rate mortgage has remained under four percent for the last 15 consecutive weeks.
